Q: Do you design and produce trial timelines?

A: Yes. RSI uses top-of-the-line graphics tools to design all client-supplied trial timeline information in a digitized format. Formats may include PDF files for strategic planning and other attorney use, and also PowerPoint and exhibit boards for use as deposition and trial presentations.

Q: Can you recover deleted files and emails from a computer?

A: Yes. RSI's computer forensics specialists visit client locations and forensically copy all hard drives containing case-relevant data. The copying process employs hash verification programs to assure verification of all data at the binary level. The data is preserved and analyzed for later evidentiary use.

Q: Can you recover files from cell phones or other mobile devices?

A: Yes. RSI's forensic specialists can recover incoming and outgoing emails and text messages on most cell phones and other mobile devices, employing the verification techniques described above.

Q: Do you offer training or technical support for litigation software?

A: Yes. RSI's on-staff certified software consultants resell four leading litigation and document management software packages:

  • AD Summation iBlaze® - combines powerful database and search functionality with a graphical interface that enables control and access to all case materials.
  • Concordance™ Discovery management software enables organizing, managing, and searching litigation documents, OCR text, and other formatted data throughout the entire litigation process
  • Sanction II™ Litigation presentation software
  • TrialDirector™ Litigation presentation and document management software.

Each program employs database and search functionality for managing case materials. The first two programs also offer guidance during the discovery process to identify relevant information. RSI will install, customize and train personnel to master these sophisticated tools and keep their skills up-to-date.

Q: Can you edit and/or convert audio and video files from original media to CDs or DVDs?

A: Yes. RSI multi-media services can capture data or images on a range of original or outdated media, and edit or convert all desired content to digital files.

Q: Can you convert email files to Tiff images and import them into litigation support software?

A: Yes. We can convert commonly used email-formatted files such as PST to Tiff images and will also prepare Tiff images for importing into all major litigation support programs. Additionally RSI's conversion process applies to the majority of commonly used file types.

Q: Can you perform on-site imaging?

A: Yes. When documents must remain onsite, RSI's trained imaging technicians will travel anywhere within the continental United States to securely image records and documents with minimum disruption to the host.

A: Yes. We can reproduce X-rays in any format with exceptional quality in positive or negative output for trial exhibits, or digitized and deliverable in electronic files or stored on a CD or DVD.

A: RSI does provide pick-up and drop-off services within the Kansas City metropolitan area - free of charge.

A: No. RSI obtains records from many types of record providers, such as, IRS, SSA, Veterans Administrations (as well as governmental agencies), education institutions and employers.

A: Yes. RSI collects physical and diagnostic evidence, original pathology/cytology slides and blocks, and radiology films - utilizing detailed custodial transfer documentation.  The specific handling of evidence is based on client protocol.

A: Yes, our collection process is extremely defensible, preserving file timestamps and hash-verifying the results. RSI's processing procedures extracts metadata associated/embedded within hundreds of different file types.

Q: How can I reduce my eDiscovery costs?

A: The easiest and most effective way to minimize costs is to reduce the amount of data collected by focusing on "key" or "relevant" data. This approach is called a "targeted" collection. Isolating certain file types, running keyword searches, and filtering by date range, at the point of collection, will substantially reduce costs throughout the collection and processing phases.
